ECU Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees (BOT) is composed of 13 volunteers – 8 appointed by the UNC Board of Governors, 4 appointed by the North Carolina General Assembly and 1 ex-officio Student Body President. It is an honor for all members of the Board of Trustees to serve East Carolina University, working with every sector of the University and its Alumni.
The board shall serve as advisor to the Board of Governors on matters pertaining to East Carolina University and shall also serve as advisor to the chancellor concerning the management of the institution. As ambassadors for ECU, the board shall ethically promote the sound development of its institution, helping it to serve the people of the state.
Working in close collaboration with the Chancellor, the Board of Trustees supports the strategic direction of East Carolina University and works to advance ECU’s mission of student success, public service and regional transformation.
